Do you use olive oil? My wife is allergic to it. Yes, I only eat good when she's out of town.?
Loved it, very unique place in old time Philadelphia neighborhood. Had their house special pizza, incredible!!! You can bring your own wine, beer, dessert, salad... they only serve pizza! Service was extremely friendly and appreciated you as a customer. By far my favorite pizza place.
MoreThe best in Philly.
So far the best pizza I've had in Philly. Be sure to call ahead and reserve your dough. The white pie with spinach is almost pizza perfected.
MoreAmazing tomato pieDefinitely coming back again. Cozy little spot. Very friendly
I need to find a pizza place to meet up with my client it seems he like pizza I want to go to the best pizza in town. Luckily, I found this pizza place with great helpful staff, amazing and most importantly satisfying food. In totality, definitely good for value for money with a casual and relaxed atmosphere. a place you can ask more.. highly recommend
MoreA preferred spot for delicious Pizza. Great hospitality. Fast, efficient, and courteous service. Prices were average for the menu.
MoreThe best pizza i've ever had!!
Amazing! And very exclusive. Best house made sauce Ive ever had. Pizza is baked in a 18ft deep brick gas oven. Must call in advance to 'reserve' a pie. Very well made and delicious pizza. Highly recommend!!
MoreThin crust, crisp, the absolute best pizza. Their spinach tomato pizza no one else can compare! There are many places that make really good pizza; Tacconelli's is my tried and true favorite. We do frequent Tacconellis's Pizza and thought it would be a good idea to let you know that you have to call them and reserve your dough. If your new to Philadelphia or visiting, Tacconelli's should definitely be on your list of places to visit. In over 20 years, I have to say their pizza still rates number 1 with us.
MoreA traditional approach to pizza with a family friendly setting.
This is the original place, where they still embrace the one man one oven family tradition.
MoreGreat pizza and a great staff. While the pizza is very good and one of the best in the area I would highly recommend going to the Tacconelli’s in Maple Shade. Same style pizza but better and has a larger menu.
MoreBest Pizza in Philly. Make sure you call for a reservation because they don't take walk ins. You can bring you own appetizers and alcohol. The chef is a Wizard. Easy to see right off of Somerset Street servicing Philadelphia. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. There is a parking lot near by. CASH ONLY!!!!!!!
MoreThis is the best place to go if you want a no-frills classic rustic pizza. Very thin crust and an awesome pizzeria all around. Best pizza in Philly in my opinion
MoreExcellent traditional pizza. BYO favorite beers and enjoy a great meal.
Hands down, no question... Best pizza in the city. They know what they're doing. Call early to reserve your dough. Have them par cook it, if you are bringing it home. And for the love of God, make sure you get to side of peppers. Holy Grail type place.
MoreOmg, yes! One of the best pizzas ever.
Best pizza in North Philly for sure
Amazing pizza. Feels like the first time I've had pizza.
Fantastic pizza, call early I. Morning to order for pick up in the afternoon. Cash only. Get the spinich and tomato
MoreTacconelli's is one of my favorite pizza restaurants. I move to the Oregon coast about 10 years ago could not find good pizza good so I actually open my own pizza shop Otis Pizzeria on a small little coastal towns in Oregon called Otis the owners left me in the kitchen and see how their pizzas are made just a great place bring your own booze save a little money.
MoreFabulous neighborhood BYOB pizza shop. If you like thin crispy crust, this place is heaven. They're also very accommodating for large parties. Just call ahead to reserve dough.
MoreFantastic. We ordered a white pie with spinach and half tomato, and a Margherita pie. The crust was crispy and well done in a good way, the balance of their nice sauce and toppings and cheese was great. I’m not the hugest fan of super well done crust, but this was done right. Service was great. Atmosphere is perfect American pizza parlor. BYOB. Cash only with a $2 fee ATM on site. Would definitely go out of my way to come back.
MoreThe most amazing pizza. A must try. Great staff, friendly. You have to make a reservation days in advance which is fine. Pizza is amazing. You must try the white pie with tomato and spinach. Sauce has a nice flavor and consistency. Cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back here!!!
MoreGood, not great, Philadelphia pizza institution. Cash only and you need to call ahead your pizza reservation. We had no issues getting an early-ish reservation same-day midweek. Pizza is very saucy. Crust is thin and crispy. The pizza was enjoyable but did not live up to the the hype. Just a word of caution the neighborhood was eerily desolate when we visited.
MoreI grew up on this pizza! This is THE best brick oven pizza EVER! There are no others like it. You have to get the pizza from the one in Port Richmond only! Love it!
MoreGreat thin crust pizza. So popular that you have to call ahead. Worth the wait!
We've been dining in all week and decided to order some take out since the weather was fabulous today. We decided on Taconelli's since we've exhausted all of our close proximity venues. We ordered ahead and our sausage topped pie was ready and still warm in the 20 minutes that it took us to arrive. We didn't delay and drove straight in eating our pizza curbside in the car! You get everything that you'd expect for a place with such a legendary long standing reputation: Crispy thin crust. A very balanced sauce, not too sour or sweet but with just enough moisture to complement the pie. The sauce really made an impression on me. Likewise with the cheese and sausage (our topping of choice). Quality with pull but just enough to know that its there and not greasy at all. $20 is more than what you'd pay elsewhere but honestly it doesn't disappoint. Definitely a treat and worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.
MoreSuper pretentious pizza place that makes you call days ahead for a reservation and is too good to take your credit card (cash only), but with days notice that we were coming it still took them an hour and a half to get out a single pizza. Went with a group including our kids for my wife's birthday and after the first pizza, the rest trickled out over another half hour. No explanation or updates during that wait from anyone that worked there. Two stars at least because the pizza wasn't bad (one pie was burnt though after waiting all that time.) They also took our sodas off the bill at the end for the wait.
MoreDid not disappoint - 100% worth the hype. Service was perfect - our waitress was attentive and friendly. Just be prepared to wait about an hour (bring beers!) Got the white pizza with spinach and tomatoes and a plain pie with pepperoni and both were great. So thin, crisp and chewy at the same time. We will be back!
More11 adults (6 guys, 5 girls) 7 children under the age of 5 (only 4 eating pizza) 10 pizzas...only 3 slices survived!!! Such a great atmosphere and experience that is worth every penny. The pizza tally was 2 house specials, 2 plain margherita, 2 sausage and sweet pepper, 1 white proscuitto & basil, 1 pepperoni & mush, 1 pepperoni & onion, and 1 sausage and onion. I havent been back to the area in a few years so it was great for catch up with good friends and it's great this place is BYOB! The thin crunch crust pairs great with high quality toppings and wonderful sweet but not too sweet red sauce. Very unique pizza and a must for pizza lovers.
MoreGreat pizza thin and crispy cooked in a original brick oven!
As an Italian, this place is easily the best in my opinion (the best opinion). Anytime I eat this pizza I laugh at how good it is. My favorite pie of all time goes to Taconellis, the lady on the phone is always so nice and actually very helpful. Anyone who has given this place a bad review I honestly want to meet them just to see what's wrong with them, they probably eat domino's pizza instead.. rookies. I've had the plain, pepperoni, and margherita pizza so far but I've heard that their special is amazing, I'll try that next. Thank you Tacconellis for always consistently making the best pizza, god bless! -Anthony
MoreGood tomato pies. The white pie is awesome. Worth a trip for any pizza fan. Service is basic. BYOB.
MoreGreat old-school pizza shop. Ask for the 'Signature' - comes with crushed tomatoes and spinach.
MoreLoved everything about this place. Service was second to none. Felt like family was taking care of us. We enjoyed the old school feel of the dining room too. The pizza was ridiculously good. Cooked perfect. Plain cheese was the best option IMO. The sauce was some of the best I've ever had. Also enjoyed mush and sausage. Had a white pie and a pepperoni pie which were all delicious. Will definitely be going back! Cheers.
MoreOne of the best pizzas in the Philadelphia area. Make sure you order your pizza shells ahead of time because they only make what they need. And it might sound odd, but they're based in two row homes. It doesn't look like your average pizza place, on the outside. But, on the inside it's so cozy and everyone is really nice. The pizza is paper thin and goes quickly, so if you're one to eat a lot, I would get more than normal.
MoreThe food was really good. Loved the sauce, I think that was on the the best thing about the pizza. It did take a long time to get our pizza but it was still worth the wait. The best one they have is the Margarita pizza.
MoreExcellent pizza, old school atmosphere, and service. Diane was a wonderful waitress and hostess. She was so friendly and gave us useful information since it was our first time dining there. I can't wait to go back.
MoreDelicious pizza. Crisp, thin crust. Very friendly staff. Save some room and grab ice cream afterwards next door at Somerset Splits.
Morepizza, very satisfying. service is always timely even when they have a full house. staff treated us so nice.
MoreFlippen awesome...
Been comming to this place ever since I was a kid with my father watching the guy put the pizza in the over with the long pizza stick was the best pizza then best pizza now ...I bring my wife and kids here now ...great place in a great neighborhood always good pizza staff always friendly and nice just gotta place your order before they run out of dough ...best pizza around !!!!
MoreOne of my favorites for pizza in Philly! I think it's gotten to the point where some people have raised the bar so high for them because of having to reserve dough but for me it will never change. I love thin crust and a cracker crunch the specialty pizza is out of this world and the homemade sausage that cooks on top of the pizza is to die for. If you're going to go I recommend going with at least four six people so that you can order multiple pies and try everything.
MoreOne of my favorite places for delicious Pizza. The staff was very welcoming and observant. This place has a nice atmosphere.
MoreWe picked up a large margarita pizza from Tacconelli's for dinner this evening, and it was---in my humble opinion--some of the BEST pizza we have ever had!! We had a long drive home, so by the time we sat down to eat, the pizza had gotten cold. We reheated it, and..lt. Was. AMAZING!!!!😉 Crisp crust, deliciously sweet and savory tomato sauce with flavorful mozzarella cheese. I can only imagine how wonderful this delicious pie would have been if eaten straight out of the oven! We shall return!❤️
MoreThe best ! Would like to go more spontaneously but is what it is.
Some of the best pizza in Philadelphia. Call ahead and reserve your dough though. Also, BYOB. The restaurant has a homey-family feel to it which is nice. This isn't a slice place though so if you go, you order your dough (how many pies do you want) ahead of time. When you get there you can choose what type of pizza (toppings) you want. I usually go with 6-7 old HS buddies around Thanksgiving. Roughly 1 pie per person with us but we eat a lot so estimate according to your groups hunger based needs.
MoreFav pizza place in fishtown, call ahead to check if they have enough dough available
MoreBetter in Maple Shade. Didn't have to wait long.
